Core Curriculum

The Core Curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad survey of speech, language, and hearing sciences and disorders. The courses listed below must be completed satisfactorily before a student is awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. Also listed are the requirements for obtaining an undergraduate Minor in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. Courses that meet CLE (Counsel on Liberal Education) requirements or have prerequisites are marked with an asterisk.

Courses with equivalent content taken at other institutions can be substituted for Core listings. The determination of equivalence rests with the advisor in consultation with relevant faculty. A few selected courses listed at the end are not requirements of the Core Curriculum for a B.A. in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, however they may be taken at the undergraduate level.
